Aighttt. So this is the first thing I’ve recorded in a long time but it’s just the rough version, I’ma add way more and record most of it with my interface, but I used the built-in computer mic cos I just wanted to get somethin’ out and share it.
I drew this for my friends band! They’re called IS/IS and comprised of three awesome females, so I combined the triple goddess symbol with the headdress of Isis and an inverted triangle, representing the yoni and also cos they’re all gay.
IS/IS, check ‘em out (you’ll also be able to see their old logo that someone else made for ‘em awhile ago. I don’t think it fits their sound very well at all…)
Full of mind melting riffs and heavy fuzz freak-outs! A collection of late 60′s and early 70′s heavy psych and proto-metal
Beautiful! Tonstartssbandht are the real thing.
These lyrics ruuuullllleeeee, hahaaaa! So goofy, but still on point.
I CAN WALK OUTDOORS
SHUT THE LOCK ON POORS
IS MY MIND FOR ME
SHOULD I MAKE IT FREE
WHEN YOU TAKE THAT TEA
EAT THE BAG ALL WAYS
OPT TO PRESS ON FOR’D
MAKE IT UP THEN MAKE IT MORE
I SALUTE YOUR COURAGE
TAKE THE PLACE THATS YOURS
I CAN BEAT MY STIRRINGS
LIKE A HOMEGROWN FORCE
THERE’S A CHANCE I’LL FALL
I CAN MAKE NO CALLS
IF I HIT THAT BURDEN
NAIL MY HANDS WITH BRÜDER
I’M A ROUGHNECK LOOTER
FROM THE RUE ST. CAT
I CAN ROAST MY BACK
EAT THE MEAT FROM SCRAPS
ALL THE DOGS LIKE HAMBONES
NEVER LAUGHED AT DOPETHRONE
I CAN BE YOUR LEADER
WHEN THE WORLD ERUPTS
I CAN HIKE ALONE
MAKE A POOL AT PARC ROYALE
IF I HAVE IDEAS
PLAN TO NEVER SEE US
I CAN THROW THAT SPEAR
RIGHT BETWEEN THE EYES
I love this song, whoever made this video used a scene from Godard’s Vivre Sa Vie and it fits so damn perfectly.
HOLY SHIT! Y’all need to listen to this, this is my friend Elliott Kozel/Tickle Torture from Minneapolis, he makes beats like a madman and has the smoothest voice! When I was visiting MPLS years ago to play a show, he was upstairs at the house I played at making beats and I was like, “Oh, I just wrote a rap” and then he’s like, “Oh, well you should just lay some vocals down!” And so I did, which I have somewhere but I think y’all should hear his stuff first, it’s so good. He sent me a bunch of beats plus a few of his new project’s songs, this is one of ‘em.
this is cass, a friend of mine. tonight he classified his music as “devotional americana,” and also listened to “dancing in the dark” more than 3 times in one 45 minute sitting.
I love this song of his. He does a really good job with the meloncholy-humor thing.
I’ve unabashedly listened to Dancing in the Dark on repeat. Some days it just plays all day long, at any chance I get. It’s also a go-to karaoke jam.
Devotional Americana, that’s beautiful. Here’s his bandcamp page:
I love these lyrics:
“I hate the future Matt Plain/I love your Bart Simpson face.” #friendjokes
“Now I’m learning to be a man, means a Saturday night alone
watching Dr. Strangelove and wondering “Where’s my gun?”
Or sobbing to myself, listening to Peter Tosh
and wondering “Where’s my dog?” And wondering where he’s gone.
And getting high by myself, while reading ‘bout the also rising sun,
and wondering “Where’s my son?”
Wondering what he’s done to deserve, never to be born.”
